If you are planning to stay in the Santa Barbara area on Saturday, June 25th, you may enjoy one of the following activities:

  • Hike in the coastal mountains – led by Florian Dorfler
    Difficulty level: moderate to challenging
    We will hike the beautiful Cold Spring Trail towards Montecito Peak with breathtaking 360 degree views of the coastal mountains, Santa Barbara, and the Pacific ocean. The length of the hike will be adapted to the participants’ interest and the weather conditions and will vary from 5 miles to maximally 9 miles round trip.

  • Brunch at the Boathouse restaurant by the ocean, followed by a leisurely walk on the beach
    A group reservation will be made likely for 10:00am. The restaurant tends to be busy on Saturday mornings, so please let us know at least two days in advance if you would like us to reserve a spot for you. The address is:

  • Santa Ynez valley guided wine tour – led by Sandra H. Dandach
    Difficulty level: easy.

  • Harbor cruise or a cruise to one of the Channel Islands
    Difficulty level: easy to moderate.
    Boats leave from Ventura, which is approximately 35 miles south of Santa Barbara on the US 101. Make sure you make reservations well in advance (1-2 weeks). To make reservations, call Island Packers at (805) 642-1393. Their website is Island Packers

  • Santa Barbara Wine Festival Saturday, June 25th 2:00–5:00PM. “You can swirl, sip and savor tastings from more than 75 Central Coast wineries at the Museum of Natural History’s annual Santa Barbara Wine Festival.” Tickets: $85, $95 at the door (if available), members $60.
